Tanker kills three siblings

Three young siblings were run over by a speeding water tanker in Orangi Town’s Abidabad area on Thursday.
Seven-year-old Usman, six-year-old Basit and five-year-old Maryam were playing outside their house when a passing loaded water tanker veered out of control. The children could not move out in time as the swerving vehicle (JE-5222) ran them over and crashed into a wall.
Area people managed to get a hold of the driver, Farman Ali, who was later handed over to the police.
The children’s bodies were shifted to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities.
According to officials, the driver claims a brake failure led to the tragic accident but they assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted.
