Punjab Police ordered to improve efficiency in court cases

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Captain ® Arif Nawaz Khan has directed the officers concerned to update Police Legal Affairs Monitoring App in connection with the progress in cases pertaining to police in various courts across the province, court remarks and next hearing of such cases.

While addressing a meeting held at Central Police Office on Tuesday in connection with the legal wing, he said that such a system should be installed in the App that would immediately send a message to the senior officers concerned regarding applications/petitions filed against police in any court of the province so that they could appear before the court with proper preparation and complete record.

Punjab Additional IGP Investigation Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG IT Humayun Bashir Tarar, AIG Monitoring Ahsan Younas, SSP Investigation Abdul Rab Ch, AIG Legal Rana Ilyas and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.

He directed the officers to file replies of pending cases in the courts of law and no unwarranted delay or negligence would be tolerated in this regard.He directed them to hold short courses pertaining to the use of the the application for the legal officers. Legal officers would be held responsible if he failed to timely respond to writ petitions in the court of law, he warned.
