ISLAMABAD: Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, said on Wednesday that her father told her that the passion and fervour of supporters was simply unbelievable.
In a tweet, Maryam said: “Just spoke to my father. He said he has never in his political life witnessed anything like that. The passion & fervour simply unbelievable.”
Maryam also shared some videos of the rally on her twitter page and wrote captions “Murree road comes to a standstill” and “Murree Road choked”, referring to a large number of supporters on Murree Road, Rawalpindi, who had come to support their leader.
“We thought we would reach Jhelum tonight (Wednesday) & therefore was declared as 1st stop but rally is stuck up at Murree rd for the last few hours,” she wrote. In an earlier tweet, Maryam wrote: “Let the people of Pak prove them [anti-Noon TV channels] wrong. They can distort the facts but it won't be long before they may have to start speaking the truth.”
She said: “Dear PMLN supporters, pls refrain from attacking or misbehaving with anti-N media houses. It's neither our party culture nor NS legacy.”
