‘MQM-H extortionist’ among 10 held by Rangers

The Sindh Rangers on Tuesday claimed to have arrested 10 suspects, including an alleged extortionist of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H), during different raids in the megalopolis.

A spokesman for the paramilitary force said Rangers personnel arrested an extortionist, Babar alias TT, during a raid in the Saudabad area. During an interrogation at the Rangers headquarter, Barbar said he was affiliated with the MQM-H and involved in extorting money from shopkeepers.

In a separate raid in the same area, the Rangers apprehended a notorious gangster, Munir Hussain, he said. The man was associated with the Lyari gang war and involved in drug peddling, he added.

The spokesman said during raids in Zaman Town and Madina Colony, the paramilitary force arrested four robbers who were identified as Danish Ahmed alias Soni, Mohammed Arif alias Kala, Ibrar alias Zahid and Israrullah.

The suspects were wanted by police in a number of robbery cases, he added. Moreover, another criminal, Mujahid Ali alias Majoo, was arrested in the Baldia Town. The man was involved in a number of heinous crimes and wanted by police, the spokesman said.

During a raid in the Mobina Town area, three suspects, namely Jannat Gul, Habib Khan and Dilawar Khan, were held as they were wanted by police in cases pertaining to drug smuggling and other crimes, he added. The spokesman said the arrested suspects were later handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
