An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday convicted an activist of the banned Lashkar-eJhangvi (LeJ) on two different terrorism related charges and sentenced him to a total of 10 years in jail.
The court, in its verdict, observed that the prosecution had concretely proven the charges of involvement in terrorist activities against the convict, Masood Khan. The man was awarded a seven- year jail sentence for possession of illegal weapons and a separate three-year sentence for a police encounter case. Khan was arrested in District East by the CTD police in 2015 on a tip off regarding an imminent attack.
