A prayer leader was gunned down outside a mosque in the Teen Hatti area on Monday.
Qari Iftekhar Mohammed, 35, of Jamia Binoria was outside Noori Masjid when two men on a motorcycle opened fire on him. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died. He was shot multiple bullet times.
Police said Mohammed was killed on sectarian grounds, adding that he belonged to the Deobandi school of thought and hailed from Rahim Yar Khan.
Shopkeeper slain
Sultan Gul, 25, was at his paan stall in Chanesar Goth when unidentified assailants opened fire on him.
He was taken to the Jinnah hospital, where he died. He had suffered a bullet to the neck.
