Panama outcome talk of town

Rawalpindi: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) will submit its final report to the Supreme Court bench today (Monday) and the final outcome of the Panama Papers case has become a 'hot' topic among the common people who were seen talking about the upcoming political developments everywhere in bazaars, markets and other public places.

"We are anxiously waiting for the decision of the Panama Papers case because it will have strong impact on the upcoming political scenario. The Panama Papers case has gripped the whole country and even our politicians have done nothing except doing politics on this issue since early last year," said Basit Nakai, a shopkeeper at Moti Bazaar.

He said the Panama Papers case should reach its logical end so that the incumbent government and other political parties can utilise their energies in the best interest of the country, adding "Whatever will be the verdict of this case it will make an end to political uncertainty from the country."

Faisal Rahi, a shopkeeper at China Market, said the issue of offshore companies of the politicians have caught the attention of the general public that is why they are waiting for the final decision of the Panama Leaks case.

He said: "I don't think that the final decision in the Panama Papers case will create any kind of instability in the country because such things happen everywhere in the world in the field of politics."
