ANF recovers 363.2 kilograms of drugs in countrywide operations

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in seven countrywide operations recovered 363.2 kilograms of charas, 7 kilograms of heroin and 2.5 kilograms of opium.
The operations were conducted in Attock, Peshawar, Lahore, Jamshoro and Hyderabad. The ANF arrested 9 drug offenders and seized 3 vehicles during the operations. Most of the recovered drugs were being smuggled for local consumption. The recovered drugs were worth Rs414.7 million in international market, said the ANF Headquarters spokesman.
The ANF Lahore, during routine surveillance near Haroon Express Bus Stand, Thokar Niaz Baig, seized a Toyota Double-Cabin (ICT-440-WD) after recovery of 7 kilograms of heroin concealed in secret cavities of the vehicle. Two drug traffickers Abdul Wahid, resident of Khyber Agency, and Afsar Ali, resident of Peshawar, were arrested. According to preliminary information, they came from Peshawar and intended to hand over the drug to a narcotics gang in Lahore. The main source of drug supply is reportedly based at Karkhano Market, Peshawar.
The ANF Peshawar road checking team, on pursuance of an intelligence report, intercepted an Isuzu Truck (X-0013-Shikarpur) near Toll Plaza, Ring Road.
During search of the vehicle, 350.4 kilograms of charas were recovered from improvised cavities made in front wall of the vehicle’s body. Two accused namely Lal Pur Khan and Abid Gul, both residents of Khyber Agency, were taken into custody. As per initial information, they were coming from Terah Valley and heading towards Shahkas.
The ANF Peshawar, in another operation, recovered 4.8 kilograms of charas from personal possession of Kamran Khan, a resident of Peshawar. He was arrested from a passenger coach near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar. Charas was concealed in his luggage. As per initial reports, he was proceeding to Rawalpindi for delivery of charas to a peddler.

During search of the vehicle, 2.5 kilograms of opium were recovered from secret cavity made in the floor of the car. An accused namely Ehsan Ullah Khan, resident of Karak, was taken into custody. As per investigation, he was proceeding towards Lahore for delivery of drugs to a peddler.
The ANF Karachi arrested 3 drug peddlers in 3 operations conducted in Hyderabad and Jamshoro.
According to details, a local drug supplier, Nisar Janwari, resident of Dadu, was arrested near Rajputana Hospital, Hyderabad, after recovery of 3 kilograms of charas. After initial investigation, his accomplice Shafqat Ali, resident of Dadu, was arrested near Gido Chowk, Hyderabad, along with recovery of 2 kilograms of charas from his personal possession. Moreover, ANF raided a place near Railway Gate, Jamshoro City, and arrested a drug peddler namely Bushkal Sulangi, resident of Jamshoro, along with 3 kilograms of charas.
