The project connects the airport road to the National Highway and has been completed at a cost of over Rs514 million
Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the Manzil Pump Flyover which has been constructed at a cost of Rs514.917 million within a period of three months, said a statement on Monday.
Speaking to journalists at the inaugural ceremony, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said the newly constructed flyover at the National Highway was built on a priory basis.
Since the route from the airport road to the National Highway had been made signal-free after completion of the bridge, he said, smooth flow of traffic could be ensured with heavy traffic also moving on the route.
“This flyover has been constructed at a cost Rs514.917 million within a period of three months,” he said and congratulated local government minister Jam Khan Shoro, programme director Niaz Soomro and his team on timely completion of the project.
He said the opponents of his party were feeling insecure because the Sindh government had launched mega infrastructure projects in the city and most of them had been completed. “The remaining development projects will be inaugurated by the end of this month.”
Briefing the PPP chairman, local government minister Jam Khan Shoro said work on the Manzil Pump Flyover was started on March 8 this year and the three-lane bridge was constructed at a cost of Rs514.917 million within three months.
Talking about the Drigh Road underpass, the chief minister said it would be inaugurated by the end of this month while work on the Submarine Chowrangi underpass was also being carried out on a faster pace.
