Salma Kiyani, a housewife, said the common people were crushed under price spiral and they really found it hard to make their both ends meet during the four years rule of the PML-N government.

She said no new tax should be levied in the next budget, the tariff of electricity and gas should be slashed and the POL prices should be kept static.

Zulfiqar Haider, a businessman, said the government should put in serious efforts in the budget to bridge the gulf between the government and the taxpayers so that all segments of the society can play their due role to embark the country upon the path of progress.

He said the elected representatives have miserably failed to safeguard the interests of the common people due to which the axe always falls on ordinary souls in the budget who are made to pay more and more taxes from their limited income.

Saira Zaman, an employee at the private firm, said the life of a common man in Pakistan is not an easy one, and it dangles from a thin thread of hope whenever it comes to the new fiscal year.
