National Book Foundation (NBF) has published third edition of English book titled ‘Books that changed my life.’
The book was authored by Major General (r) Muhammad Tahir's containing 478 pages with a tag price of Rs850.
The members of Readers Book Club may have it at 55 per cent discount for Rs388 only.
This book fulfils the main objectives of NBF to provide the readers useful, important and quality books at very low price, said a news release issued here on Tuesday.
"Books that changed my life" is a book par excellence, based on a novel theme, memorable in its historical context, drawing lessons from Eastern and Western Philosophical thought and literature.
The author selected the books that are rich in contents covering lessons of life as recognized by philosophers from Socrates to Bertrand Russell, let alone Eastern Philosophers like Iqbal and Rumi who have one simple lesson for humanity that man can achieve transcendence only through ethical living, a positive and rational life full of action.
Tahir is also the author of few other famous books e.g. ‘The Rising and Setting Sun', ‘52 Classic Books of English Literature,’ and ‘Pearls of Wisdom,’ published by National Book Foundation.
The author did MA (English literature) from Punjab University, served in Pakistan Army for 35 years with distinction and earned the award of Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) for meritorious service.
The area of his special interest is English Literature and ‘Inter Faith and Inter Cultural Dialogue.’
This fresh edition of Tahir's book ‘Books That Changed My Life’ is a book which is fruitful and attracts the researchers and students of literature and M.Phil, Ph.D.
‘Books That Changed My Life’ offers a lot to people from all walks of life, common citizens, parents, students and teachers and those who are curious to learn about life and its intricacies. The author has dedicated the book to his children Manya, Sonia and Mobeen.
