The Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) has challenged the allegations levelled by the PTI Senator Azam Khan Swati regarding Rs24 billion corruption in acquisition of land for Thallian Housing Scheme.
“The allegations levelled by Senator Azam Khan Swati for corruption of Rs24 billion is absolutely baseless,” a press release issued by the FGEHF on Wednesday said.
The FGEHF says the joint venture partner has transferred 1407 kanals land in the name housing foundation and though no payment of raw land has been made as yet.
It says the planning process and transfer of another 4500 kanal land is in progress which would be concluded after thorough evaluation. “Only after due satisfaction with regards to ease of access of project site and compactness of land, any payments would be released to the land provider,” it said.
The housing foundation said that in Thallian Housing scheme, raw land would be acquired at the rate of Rs425, 000 per revenue kanal, which implies that the total value of 10000 kanals of raw land could not exceed Rs425,000,000
It says that Thallian Motorway Housing Scheme has been launched as a joint venture with the private sector, under the JV Policy for land banking approved by the Federal Cabinet. In this scheme 75 per cent quota of plots has been earmarked for the Federal Government employees whereas 25 per cent quota of plots is reserved for the general public. 75 per cent plots for Federal Government employees have already been booked and the Federal Government employees have deposited down payment for raw land in this regard.
Likewise, the authority for membership and allotment against the general public quota also rests with the Housing Foundation. However, there have been some advertisements by different property dealers on behalf of Housing Foundation regarding “confirmed booking of plots”, which are absolutely fake and totally unlawful.
In this regard, in order to forewarn its valued prospective members against any possibility of deception or fraud, Housing Foundation issued an advertisement titled “Mushtari Hoshyaar Bash’ on February 24, 2017 in national dailies.
“In the same context, the private partner with the approval of the Housing
Foundation issued another advertisement regarding nomination of a firm as sole authorized dealer on this behalf, with the noble intention to facilitate the general public for preparation of their membership documents and to safeguard their rights for booking of plots against general public quota. In the same advertisement, unauthorized dealers have also been warned of the possibility of legal action if they persist with any attempt to hoodwink the people,” the press release said.
