NOWSHERA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Amir Muqam on Sunday advised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to stop dreaming of coming into power through unconstitutional means.
Speaking at a public meeting here, he said that the only way of forming government was through ballot as there was no shortcut to become prime minister.
He said that the 126-day sit-in had affected the country’s economy but the ‘umpire’ did not raise his finger. He said that the PTI leader had damaged the country’s economy on the directives from outside.
Amir Muqam said that after the Panama Leaks case the government agreed to constitute a commission to probe the allegation but the PTI and their allies rejected the offer and filed a petition in the court.
He suggested that PTI should search for democratic means and wait for the 2018 general elections or else they would lose their place in the country’s politics. He said that PTI leaders celebrated the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Panama case initially but were now started finding ways to reject the probe by JIT.
The PML-N leader said that his party had accepted the Supreme Court decision despite reservations. He said that anyone aware of the PTI politics could tell that the party’s leadership rejects anything that was not in accordance with their wishes.
He also criticised the Pakistan People’s Party leader Asif Ali Zardari for his remarks about the PML-N. “It is unfortunate that the country’s most infamous corrupt is giving lectures on corruption,” he added.
Amir Muqam said that voters had rejected the PPP in the previous general elections and claimed that in the next elections the party could not be able to elect a single candidate to parliament from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
