In order to cool down angry chairmen and address their grievances, the Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz has constituted two committees.

The committees comprising UC chairmen from both ruling PML-N and opposition Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) have been given tasks of giving recommendations on fixing honorarium and allowances for UC members and chairmen and resolving issue of kiosks.

The committee which would furnish recommendations regarding honorarium of MCI members at par with other municipal corporations in the country is headed by Adil Aziz Qazi, Chairman, UC-11 while Haji Gulfraz, Chairman, UC-45, Ibrar Hussain Shah, Member, MCI UC-20 while Malik Muhammad Sajid, Member, MCI UC-37 and Khurram Bakhtair, Member, MCI UC-26 will be the members of the committee.

In order to stream line issue pertaining to kiosks in the federal capital, Mayor of Islamabad has constituted a committee which will be headed by Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, Chairman, UC-41 while Member, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, Sajid Abbasi, Rana Muhammad Ashfaq Chairman, UC-43, Raja Sheeraz Kiani, Chairman, UC-01 and Malik Muhammad Rafiq, Chairman, UC-35 will be the members of the committee. This committee in close coordination with officers of MCI will submit its recommendations for solution of kiosks issue in the Federal Capital.

The two committees include three chairmen, Malik Rafique, Malik Sajid and Raja Sheeraz Kiani who hails from PTI.

It may be pointed out that the chairmen from PTI and PML-N gave tough time to the Islamabad Mayor and Chief Metropolitan Officer Asad Mehboob Kiani during last session of the Municipal Corporation.

While lodging protest against poor performance of MCI, the angry chairmen accused the Islamabad Mayor and his close aides for their failure to resolve burning issues like water shortage.
