Acting KP IGP visits bazaars, police stations

PESHAWAR: Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Akhtar Ali Shah visited bazaars and police stations in the provincial capital.

A handout said that he met leaders of the trade unions and checked the record of the police stations.It said that the acting IGP visited Khyber Bazaar, Qissa Khwani and Ander Shehr.The traders, businessmen and shopkeepers interacted with the acting IGP.

The people showered rose petals on him. The traders garlanded him and presented a sword and a traditional cap to him as souvenirs.The acting IGP met with the general public without protocol to learn about their problems.

Speaking on the occasion, the IGP reiterated his pledge to make Peshawar the cradle of peace by defeating the terrorists with the support of the people.Later, Akhtar Ali Shah visited the Khan Raziq and Bhanamari police stations and checked the record.

He said that record of the police stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be computerised. He also announced to make Khan Raziq Police Station a model police station.On the occasion, he awarded the cops who took part in an encounter against robbers in Garhi Atta Muhammad village on the outskirts of the provincial capital.
