IIU plants 1,000 saplings

The International Islamic University has planted 1,000 fruit saplings on its main campus. This Spring Tree Plantation is part of a campaign inaugurated by IIU rector Professor Masoom Yasinzai and president Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh.

The plants of citrus and guava were given by the Muhammad Saeed Foundation under a memorandum of understanding. The MoU was signed by the IIU president, while the ceremony was also attended by Prof. Dr. Bashir Khan, Prof. Dr. Munir, Prof. Dr. Arshid Zia and other senior IIU officials.

The IIU Spring Tree Plantation Campaign 2017 has been initiated by IIU Landscape Development and Biodiversity Conservation Program, lead by Dr. Muhammad Ibrar Shinwari, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science and his team, aimed to plant thousands of plants in Spring 2017. The campaign is supported by various organizations like Clean & Green, Pakistan, Muhammad Saeed Foundation, Capital Development Authority and Green Circle Organisation.
