CDA conducts 56 anti-encroachment operations in 9 days

In a report submitted to the Islamabad Mayor who also holds charge of the CDA chairman, it has been revealed that the Enforcement Directorate of Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted 56 anti-encroachment operations from February 25 to March 05.

During operations, the CDA personnel demolished several illegal constructions and removed encroachments including three illegally constructed rooms, four boundary walls, 12 huts, two illegal tea stalls and chapper hotels, four fruit and vegetable stalls and three barber shops in addition to the locking one vehicle being used for unauthorised/illegal selling of different items. During these operations 645 encroachment items in addition to the 11 laden trucks of encroachment material were also confiscated.

CDA Chairman Sheikh Ansar Aziz also chaired a meeting on Thursday to review the progress of ongoing anti-encroachment drive of CDA and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad. On this occasion, senior officers of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and CDA were also present.

Sheikh Anser Aziz said that the main purpose of this drive was to restore natural grace of the city by eradicating encroachments completely from the entire city and the business community particularly trade unions should join hands with CDA and MCI in complete eradication of encroachments.

Director Enforcement informed that several operations were conducted against different movable and immovable encroachments and illegal construction all over the city during the last ten days.
