‘Prosperity related to women’s participation’

Islamabad: Country’s prosperity and uplift is directly related to women’s participation in different spheres of life.

This was stated by Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh at a function organised at Women Empowerment Centre (WEC) on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

He highlighted the fact that women have been instrumental in the successful execution of national movements at different stages of history. PBM Women Empowerment Centre is such example where hardworking and courageous women strive to become an active part of the society while carrying out full potential of their capabilities.

He further stated that the government believes in empowering women to make them socially dignified and in this regard is working on different projects. PBM has 157 Women Empowerment Centres (WECs) all over Pakistan through which thousands of women have found distinguished jobs. PBM managing director told that WECs have been revamped and equipped with modern computer labs during last three years. Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh also distributed sewing machines and certificates among the trainees of WDECs.
