Pakistan, Oman navies conduct joint exercise

The Pakistan and Oman navies conducted a joint exercise, named THAMAR AL TAYYIB-16, in the north Arabian Sea, said a statement issued on Thursday.

An RNO Task Group comprising the warships RNOV AL SADH and RNOV AL BUSHRA and frontline combatants of the Pakistan Navy participated.

The bilateral exercise included a range of advanced operational exercises encompassing major facets of maritime warfare, particularly operations related to counter terrorism and piracy, as well as conducting anti-surface, live weapon firing in a multi-threat environment.

The latest exercise, eighth in the series, involved the participation of the Pakistan Navy’s destroyer frigates, missile boats and naval aviation units.
