Islamabad: The regulator has warned any student enrolled by medical and dental colleges in violation of the Regulations for MBBS and BDS Admission and House Job/Internship 2016 will not be registered by it for practice.
Also, a warning of penalty was issued to medical and dental colleges over breach of these regulations.
The warnings were issued during the 146th session of the Council here.
According to the PMDC, the Regulations for MBBS and BDS Admission and House Job/Internship 2016 have been circulated to all PMDC-recognised medical and dental colleges and universities for strict compliance through letters.
“We’ve already formally told colleges and universities that MBBS/BDS admissions in 2016-17 will strictly be made in accordance with new regulations and therefore, the Admissions in MBBS/BDS Courses and Conditions for House Job/Internship Foundation Year Regulations 2013 stood repealed and were not in field,” he said.
The PMDC president said the November 18, 2016 order of the Lahore High Court vide W.P.No.35487 was only for the extent of SAT-II, whereas the provisions of all other sections of aforementioned regulations were intact and binding on all medical and dental institutions from October 27, 2016.
He said the Council had made those moves to ensure that intelligent and deserving students get a fair chance to study medicine on merit.
