APP pensioners’ body formed

Islamabad: In a meeting of pensioners of Associated Press of Pakistan, a body called APP Pensioners Association was constituted to identify and highlight the deep-rooted and serious issues being confronted by nearly 250 pensioners, both journalists and non-journalists throughout Pakistan, says a press release.

The newly found body will act as a platform to approach the concerned authorities including management of APP to get their piled up issues addressed, unfortunately some of them have already died leaving their kith and kin high and dry.

After thorough discussion during the meeting, following office-bearers of the Association have been elected. The representatives residing in other cities will also be co-opted in the Association soon.

Liaqat Ali Toor (President), Zafar Rashid Bhatti (Vice President) Javed Akhtar (General Secretary), Ambroz Joseph and Latif Abbasi (Additional Secretaries) and Mamlook Hussain (Joint Sectary). The executive members included M. Aftab, Usman Hameed, Farooq Ahmad, Muhammad Irshad and Muhammad Nawaz.
