Rangers killed four suspected gangsters in a shootout in Lyari on Saturday. A Rangers spokesperson said the paramilitary force raided a hideout in Juman Shah Plot in Lyari and in the ensuing encounter killed four notorious gangsters. They were identified as Muhammad Shehreyar, Sanaullah, Liaquat and Ameer Hassan. The spokesperson said Shehreyar was wanted in 20 or 25 murder and extortion cases. Sanaullah and Liaquat were involved in over 20 murder and drug-peddling cases. Hassan was wanted for four murders, kidnappings, robberies and extorting traders. Rangers found sub-machine guns at the hideout.
Separately, the paramilitary force raided a hideout in Mominabad and Ittehad Town and nabbed two terrorists affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban’s Swat faction. Their weapons were seized.
Rangers arrested an alleged extortionist near Tabba Heart Hospital in Azizabad. The spokesperson said Shakir was extorting doctors and was caught taking money.
The paramilitary force also conducted raids in Landhi and Sikander Goth and arrested three suspected target killers.
