DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf has suspended Tibbi City SHO Atif Zulfiqar and reprimanded other SHOs and SDPOs of City Police Division over their poor performance against drug peddlers and gamblers.
He took this action while chairing monthly crime review meeting of City Division on Saturday.
He said strict departmental action would be taken against the negligent officers and officials.
He also directed the officers concerned to take action against brothels in their respective areas. He reprimanded SHO and DSP of Naulakha, DSP of Tibbi City, SHO and DSP of Gawalmandi, SHOs of Mochi Gate, Lower Mall, Data Darbar, Bhatti Gate, Islampura and Shadbagh. He also issued show-cause notice to the SHO of Lorri Adda.
Loot returned: CIA returned the loot worth hundreds of thousands of rupees to its owners.
CIA SP Raja Basharat said protection of lives, properties and respect of citizens was top priority of Lahore police. He said CIA had recovered the loot, including cash and valuables, from dacoits.
ACE DG: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab Director General Brig (retd) Muzaffar Ali Ranjha has said that since he assumed the office, he has launched a comprehensive crackdown on the corrupt officials across the province.
Addressing a press conference here Saturday, the DG said that many big fish had been captured since he took over the charge four months back.
“First time a grade-20 DMG officer has been arrested”, he noted, adding that many more accused corrupt officials would be put behind bars in the coming days.
He said that around 8,500 complaints had been received in the last four months and among those 622 FIRs had been lodged. The DG vowed that no one would be spared if found involved in corruption.
