The SSP stated that the police had rushed to the spot after they received information of a dead body, and a motorcycle lying at the spot. After completion of legal formalities, the body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for post-mortem examination.

SSP Aftab said the family was later informed by the factory authorities that Siddiq had not shown up to work at night which led to the suspicion of unidentified men having kidnapped him on some personal enmity. He was said to have been shot and injured, and later slaughtered. However, a case was reported and investigations were underway.
