Bahria Town sets up free lab at Chachro hospital

30 various tests including hepatitis to be conducted; four broken ambulances handed over to hospital after repair

KARACHI: The Bahria Town Relief Mission’s aid operation is going on in Tharparkar and in this connection a clinical laboratory has been established at the Chachro’s Taluka Headquarters Hospital.
Infrastructure and equipment has been donated for the laboratory by Bahria Town, says a press release.The laboratory set up at the Taluka Headquarters Hospital, some 20 kilometers from Chachro, offers free-of-cost tests for 30 various diseases, including hepatitis A, B and C.
The laboratory will be upgraded with more equipment in the coming days and will provide facility of tests for 70 various ailments.Earlier, patients from the area having a population of 1.5 million had to visit Karachi and Hyderabad for normal tests, putting an additional burden of transportation charges on their pockets.
Meanwhile, Bahria Town has also handed over four broken ambulances to the Chachro’s Taluka Headquarters Hospital after their repair.Bahria Town is also providing water to various villages located in Chachro and adjoining areas daily through tankers.
Besides work on digging wells, installment of pumps on wells, construction of water storage tanks and installment of hand-pumps is going on.Bahria Dastarkhwan set up in Chachro provides free-of-cost meal daily to thousands of deserving people twice a day.Bahria Town has already set up a clinical laboratory at the Civil Hospital where free medical facilities are being provided.
