Action starts against 58 illegal colonies

TOBA TEK SINGH: The Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) on Friday started action against 58 illegal housing colonies being established in the city and its surroundings.

Talking to reporters, TMA Administrator Ahmad Khawar Shahzad told that the purchase and the sale of the plots had been stopped with immediate effect in these illegal colonies while relevant revenue patwaris had been directed to incorporate red-ink entry against the land of the said unapproved colonies. He said that the officials had also been asked not to issue copy of land record to the applicants. He informed that only 13 colonies were approved in the tehsil while cases of nine colonies were pending with the TMA and all the remaining 58 colonies were illegal. He said that he had directed to remove and take into custody all signboards and billboards displayed outside the said illegal colonies. He said that directions had been issued to seal the offices of the illegal colonies.
