Witness testifies against Ubaid K2 in illegal arms case

A witness testified against alleged target killer Ubaid alias Ubaid K2 at an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday, saying that the suspect possessed illegal arms.

Ubaid was arrested during a Rangers raid on Nine-Zero, the headquarters of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, in Azizabad on March 11 last year.

After his arrest, he was said to have provided information that led to the seizure of a huge cache of illegal arms in a playground near a college in Federal B Area.

Another witness had earlier identified Ubaid in the murder case of a policeman.

He said he was a fruit vendor and
happened to be present near Water
Pump Chowrangi in Federal B Area in 2005 when he saw the suspect riding a motorbike along with an accomplice and shooting dead a cop.

At an appearance before Judicial Magistrate Asghar Ali, another witness identified Ubaid as the killer o a police constable in 2000.

Faisal Vawda case

A court put off proceedings in a case against PTI leader Faisal Vawda facing charges of creating a law and order situation.

The Malir court was informed by an attorney for the defendant that his client had left for Islamabad due to an official engagement and sought exemption from appearance. The court granted exemption and put off the hearing.

Vawda was arrested on September 7 and granted bail a day later after he submitted a surety bond of Rs30,000.

The PTI leader was taken into custody on Sharea Faisal after he along with 6,000 to 7,000 had people blocked the busty road, causing an hours-long traffic jam and leaving tens of thousands of motorists stranded The case was registered against him Airport Police Station.
