Minhaj center director sentenced for molestation

MANCHESTER: Minhajul Quran Islamic Center’s director has been sentences to 12 months imprisonment and fined one thousand pounds by a court in Manchester for attempting to rape a fellow worker of the Tehrik.

The director Haroon Abbas who is pupil of Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) Chairman Tahirul Qadri will remain in police supervision for next five years. The victim, Gulnar told the court that the convict tried to molest her in a closed-door room.

Narrating the later related incidents, she told the court that Abbasi on other occasions also attempted similar molestations, which made her badly terrorised. She told the court that she flinches when she hears name of any molvi or going near Minhajul Quran mosque. Surprisingly, the Minhaj has suspended the director only temporarily, despite such serious crime.
