ISLAMABAD: Teaching and non-teaching staff of Federal Urdu University, Islamabad campus on Monday staged protest against the acting Vice Chancellor Dr Suleman D Muhammad of the university for his alleged fake degree and urged the concerned authorities to remove him from this post.
Dr Adul Majid who was leading the protest said that degree of Dr Suleman D Muhammad acting Vice Chancellor of Federal Urdu University is allegedly fake and Higher Education Commission (HEC) has also submitted its report to the court and also to the President House about the fake degree but he is still working on the same post and enjoying all the facilities.
While presenting the demands Dr Abdul Majid said that keeping in view the directives of court and HEC all the decisions taken by acting Vice Chancellor Dr Suleman should be nullified. NAB and FIA should investigate the illegal appointments made and the tenders floated by the acting VC. According to the report by HEC Dr Suleman’s name should be in the list of blacklist professors and should be published on the website of HEC blacklist professors.
Dr Abdul Majid demanded that all the illegal facilities given to the teaching and non-teaching just to oblige them by the acting VC should be stopped.
He said Federal Urdu University is badly suffering because of the illegal appointments at the higher and lower level and I am afraid this university will bear this loss for many years. “Staff members who are working on merit are suffering because of favouritism,” he added. Later the delegation of 20 members including teaching and non-teaching staff also visited HEC office Islamabad to give memorandum to take action against the acting VC.
