Thirty-three students from across Pakistan depart soon for Camp Future Stars, a two-week English-language exchange programme in Turkey sponsored by the US government. They will join the students from both Afghanistan and India. The participants, ages 15 to 17, will focus on developing leadership and English language skills.

US Embassy Regional English Language Officer Jen MacArthur met with the Pakistani participants and encouraged them to share their rich cultural heritage with fellow participants from other countries.

“Camp Future Stars not only offers students the opportunity to practice their English-language skills,” MacArthur said. “It allows students from each of the participating countries to experience a new environment in Turkey and to serve as cultural ambassadors from their home nations.”

Hamza, a 16-year-old participant from Karachi, commented, “I am excited to meet new people from other countries and to show that Pakistani students have a passion for learning.”

The US Embassy has sponsored this annual exchange programme since 2013. Participants in the exchange programme are current or former students of the US Embassy’s two-year English Access Microscholarship Programme who were nominated by their teachers.
