5 injured in accidents

LALAMUSA: Five people, including a woman, were injured critically in three accidents on Saturday.

Reportedly, rickshaw driver Bila, 22, of Karimpura and an old woman of village Bernali were injured when a van hit them. They were rushed to Trauma centre and the woman was shifted to Aziz Bhatti Hospital in a serious condition.

Rescue-1122 officials shifted an injured man to Trauma Centre and he was also shifted to Aziz Bhatti Hospital.

Two motorcyclists sustained injuries when their motorcycles collided with each other near the local government academy, Lalamusa.

HEAPS OF GARBAGE: Locals are upset owing to big heaps of garbage at Mohallah Karimpura near bus-stand along GT Road and Sabzi Mandi along Service Road. They urged the relevant authorities to remove the garbage.

LOADSHEDDING: Unscheduled loadshedding has perturbed citizens.

The locals told reporters that they are left with no water and are forced to spend nights under the open sky due to excessive and unscheduled loadshedding.

ID celebration preparations complete

LALAMUSA: Locals have completed their preparations to celebrate Independence Day with national enthusiasm and zeal.

Flags have been hoisted on government buildings and locals have decorated their houses with buntings and national flags. The TMA displayed posters of Pakistan flags on electric poles on GT Road and traders have decorated their business points. Main ceremony of flag hoisting will be held at Municipal Committee under tightened security where PML-N MNA Chaudhry Jafar Iqbal and MPA Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf Dewna will be special guests. A motorcycle rally will be taken out after the flag hoisting ceremony. Government colleges, schools and hospitals administrations will also celebrate the I-Day. Police have warned strict action against wheelie doers.
