Prince William, Kate Middleton show ‘power of sport’ with latest outing

Prince William and Kate Middleton made a royal visit at Headingley Stadium.

On Tuesday, September 29, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram handle offered a glimpse into their latest visit at the Headingley Rugby Stadium, in Leeds, where the royal couple met with Rugby players, coaches and community leaders.

As the caption read, “Changing lives through the power of sport.”

“Meeting young players, coaches and community leaders behind the Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s Rugby League Development Plan.”

It continued, “From supporting the next generation of talent and strengthening pathways into the game, to expanding opportunities for women and girls, inspiring to see how Rugby League is helping more people across Leeds build confidence, develop skills and fulfil their potential.”

“With the 2026 Rugby League World Cup kicking off next month, it’s encouraging to see the positive impact the sport continues to have in communities across the country,” the caption concluded.

It is pertinent to mention here that Kate Middleton is patron of the both Rugby Football Union and the Rugby Football League, while Prince William serves as a patron of the Welsh Rugby Union and the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust.
