Charles Spencer reveals who knew about King Charles' alleged Diana remark

Charles Spencer revealed that he didn't keep King Charles' alleged remarks about Princess Diana's death to himself.

Addressing the claim during his appearance on CBS Morning on September 28, where he discussed his new book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister.

As Spencer recalls a heated phone conversation with then-Prince Charles following Diana’s death in 1997. According to him, Charles told him, “We’ll forget her soon enough.”

Speaking to the host, Spencer shared that he told "people at the time," noting, "I told Barbara Walters, actually, at the time."

It is pertinent to mention that Spencer's comments come after Buckingham Palace responded to an excerpt from his book, saying that grief can affect memory and judgment.

However, Spencer pushed back against suggestions that his collection could be affected by grief.

"But they have to gaslight; they have to sort of pretend there’s something wrong with my mind or my memory. There’s nothing wrong with either," he said.
