Taylor Swift breaks Beyonce's MTV VMAs record for most awarded artist

Taylor Swift once again proved she is the pop star of this era.

At the 2026 MTV VMAs, the Life of a Showgirl artist dethroned Beyoncé and became the show's most awarded artist.

Last night, the Opalite singer won three Moon People at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater, bringing her total to 33 VMAs she has taken home throughout her music career.

The August hitmaker earned a total of nine nominations this year, second to Madonna who received 11.

Taylor won Best Video of the Year for The Fate of Ophelia and Best Direction for Opalite.

Along with this, she received the first-ever MTV VMA Artist Director Honors to mark her "roughly 60 music videos" she's made in 20 years.

After receiving the inaugural honor, she premiered her new Patient Zero music video at the award ceremony.

So, last night Taylor entered the Peacock Theater with 30 Moon People in her bucket and left with her new total of 33.

The record for the most-awarded artist in MTV Video Music Awards history was previously held by Beyoncé with 30 accolades in her name.
