Netflix renews 'The Beast in Me' for season 2 despite limited-series status

The Beast in Me, which debuted on Netflix in 2025, was conceived and marketed as a limited series.

Now, the streamer has renewed the show for a second season.

Variety says the decision came after The Beast in Me debuted at the top of Netflix's global Top 10 and stayed there for five weeks.

In its initial seven weeks, the series registered over 43 million views.

The psychological thriller also drew attention during award season. Matthew Rhys, who starred as Nile Jarvis, won an Emmy for his performance.

Howard Gordon, as a showrunner, reacted to the season two renewal, saying it aligned with what they envisioned for the show.

"We always told ourselves we’d only do a second season of ‘The Beast in Me’ if we found a story that was worthy of the first – and I’m thrilled to say we found it."

He continued, “We loved making this show, and our audience seemed to love watching it, so we’re enormously grateful to Jinny Howe and Netflix, and to Karey Burke and 20th Television for giving us the chance to get the band back together and do it again.”

The Beast in Me is streaming on Netflix.
