Alanis Morissette reveals how ‘women intuition’ helped her uncover shocking theft

Alanis Morissette, known for her song Ironic, revealed that the intuition she has as a female led her to discover a major theft done by her former business partner.

The singer-songwriter, who is regarded as Queen of Alt-Rock Angst, opened up about the theft during a recent chat on Call Her Daddy podcast.

For those unaware, Alanis' former manager, Jonathan Todd Schwartz, allegedly stole more than $10 million from the You Ought Know hitmaker and his other clients and was later sentenced to six years prison by federal court after pleading guilty in 2017.

Recalling how Alanis and her husband found out about the theft after seeing something inaccurate , she said, “Something felt weird. A woman’s intuition.

“I just kept going into the new business manager’s office over and over and saying, ‘I need more information because something’s up and I don’t know what.'

“And I kept coming in to the point where, God bless, they said, ‘Why are you here in this boardroom?’ And I said, ‘I still don’t have the answer yet.’”

Despite the frustrating process of court, Alanis kept on “showing up” to get answers.

A;anis also expressed gratitude for having a female judge, because according to her, legal system has “bias against wealth, bias against women, bias against women knowing.”

The other clients that Alanis former manager has were Beyonce and Gwyneth Paltrow.
