Dolly Parton's sister pens moving words after burial

Dolly Parton's sister, Freida, has shared some words in the honour of the late country music star, who died last week after a short battle with cancer.

Four days after her passing, Freida has shared a tribute on Facebook, thanking her followers for their support as she grieves the loss of her older sister.

In her lengthy post, Freida said Dolly was more than just a sister as the musician helped raise her from ages 13 to 18, adding that while "to the entire world, she was a superstar," to her, she was "Dolly Momma.”

She added, “She was the sister who would climb into bed with me when I was little because we were both afraid of the dark. She was the woman who stepped up and became my Momma."

"She was the one who tried to convince me to wear her wigs at my shows in Dollywood (sorry, sister, but I definitely didn’t listen to you on that one).”

Freida also wrote that “like all sisters, we definitely had our share of arguments and disagreements throughout the years, but even through all the highs and lows, and all the laughter and tears, I never stopped loving her.”

Freida asked her followers to keep praying, not just for Dolly, but now for her and the rest of the family as they deal with this loss.

Dolly was one of 12 children in her family. Several of her siblings have passed away over the years as well.

Other family members have also shared memories of Dolly recently, including her sister Stella and niece Jada Star.

Dolly also shared close bonds with her siblings through family projects, including cooking and music, which they often did together growing up.
