Why Michael Jackson's son wanted to hug Jaafar so badly?

Michael Jackson would be 68 if he were alive today. But recently, what fans say is he was brought back to life by his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in the rock star's biopic.

The foremost in praise was the pop icon's eldest son Prince Jackson.

Though he served as producer on the biopic, when he saw Jaafar's performance on screen as his dad— in his words — he went into an "emotional shock".

The clothes, the hairstyle, and the look— all of these made Prince overwhelmed.

“The first time that I saw him in person, in his hair and makeup, was really an emotional shock because I had not seen my father in a long time,” he told People.

“Jaafar just embodied him and brought him back in that moment," the producer said.

Jaafar's appearance was him annandily mirroring the late megastar that – at one point – Prince was so overflowed with emotions that he said the only thing he wanted to do was to hug him.

"I really just wanted to give [Jaafar] a hug and had to take a moment to himself to process the emotional experience," Michael's son recalled.

And he is not alone. Scores of the Billie Jean hitmaker's family members watched the biopic and had similar reactions.

“As family, we’re very supportive. Jean is every bit confident that Jaafar would perform, but I'm similar. I say, I think that Jaafar greatly exceeded our expectations,” he told ABC News at the time.

“I am blown away by what he has done here," Prince said.

Michael is streaming on STARZ.
