Melanie Griffith on Friday a shared a fake quote attribute to Hollywood legend Clint East about US President Donald Trump.

Griffith, the mother of Dakota Johnson, shared the post to her Instagram stories.

It was originally posted by actor and comedian John Leguizamo with claim lifelong Republican Clint Eastwood had called Donald Trump’s presidency “the greatest deception ever carried out on the American public.”

John Leguizamo shared the post with the caption, “Finally seeing the light! but why does it take this level of destruction to our constitution and democracy for republicans to speak up?”

The post featuring images of Eastwood and Trump with the purported quote, has circulated widely online.

However, the statement attributed to Eastwood is fabricated.
