Kensington Palace issues statement on Nepal flood
Hundreds of people were killed and thousands others remained missing after massive flood hit Nepal-China border
Prince William and Kate Middleton on Wednesday issued a statement on Nepal’s flash flood which killed hundreds of people, expressing shock over the scale of devastation along Nepal-China border.
The Prince and Princess of Wales’s statement came as rescuers searched for survivors in the debris-strewn valleys and hillsides of Nepal on Thursday while more than 1,000 people remained missing there and in neighbouring China after a wall of ice, mud and rock collapsed into a mountain river, triggering a catastrophic flash flood.
In a joint statement, Prince William and his wife Princess Kate said:
"The scale of the devastation along the Nepal-China border is shocking. We thinking of everyone caught up in the terrible disaster. Our thoughts are especially with the families facing an unbearable wait for news and with the communities confronting such immense loss.
We are incredibly grateful to all those working in such dangerous conditions to rescue people and support those affected."
