'The Voice' celebrity edition: Keke Palmer joins as new host

Keke Palmer is all set to replace Carson Daly as the host for Season 31 of The Voice.

“That’s right,"the 32-year-old actress said in a social media video on Tuesday. "It’s true. I’m hosting ‘The Voice.’ I’ll see you guys there."

As per NBC, the forthcoming season, The Voice: Celebrity, is “an extension of the longstanding series.”

“This special season swaps undiscovered talent for a wide range of celebrities — actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television stars — competing to become the first ‘Voice’ celebrity champion," as pera press release issued by the network.

Queen Latifah and Riley Green are returning as celebrity coaches while Joe Jonas will appear in the role for the first time.

Recently, an insider spilled to The Sun that Carson left the singing show due to the demands of his competing duties as a co-anchor on the Today show.

“He wasn’t able to make the upcoming season’s schedule work with his ‘Today’ show schedule,” a tipster said.

“So his ‘Today’ workload mixed with not wanting to be away from family this next year made him say no to hosting 31," the source added.

According to the insider, Carson will continue to serve as a producer on the show.
