Sarah Ferguson rep admits she was ‘threatened’ by Jeffrey Epstein

Sarah Ferguson insists she cut off contact with Jeffrey Epstein after finding the truth about him.

The former Duchess of York, who was often helped financially by the convicted sex offender, condemns any further contact.

"The duchess spoke of her regret about her association with Epstein many years ago, and as they have always been, her first thoughts are with his victims. Like many people, she was taken in by his lies," the spokesperson for Fergie earlier said.

“As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia. She does not resile from anything she said then. This email was sent in the context of advice the duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats."

This comes as Fergie’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, have distanced themselves from the parents.

A source told the Daily Mail today: "They are aghast at what they have read. They are mortified by the emails their mother has sent to Epstein. It is so embarrassing for them.

"We don't believe the girls [Beatrice and Eugenie] were told much about what has just emerged [in the latest Epstein files release], and they will simply be aghast at just how close their parents were to this appalling man."
