Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie Xo is preparing to turn herself in for a years-old ticket she doesn’t even remember getting.
The podcast host, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, revealed the ordeal on the November 21 episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, telling listeners, “You guys, I’m going to jail. Should we talk about it?”
According to Bunnie, 45, the trouble started with a forgotten traffic ticket from Alabama. “What happened was, I got a ticket in 2020 in Alabama, driving home from a family vacation. Do I remember getting this ticket? Absolutely not,” she said.
Things escalated when she began getting pulled over while driving what she joked “looks like a drug dealer’s vehicle.”
During the first stop, she said the police officer went from stern to polite once he saw her behind the wheel. But the mood shifted again when he ran her information.
“He runs my license, and he comes back and he goes, ‘Do you know that your license is suspended?’ … I’m a frickin upstanding citizen these days,” Bunnie recalled. She paid the Alabama ticket immediately, assuming the issue was fixed.
It wasn’t. A second traffic stop “the other day” confirmed her license was still suspended — and that driving on it is an “arrestable offense.” She wasn’t taken into custody on the spot, but was told she must “go down to the jail and book yourself in.”
“It looks like your girl is gonna have to go book herself in,” she said, adding that if she does, she’ll show up fully glammed and ready to vlog it.
Both Bunnie XO and Jelly Roll both have a criminal history but have since turned their lives around.
Bunnie, who has been open about her past struggles with addiction, was first arrested at 19, when she was living on the streets of Vegas for five years. She was arrested a total of seven times. Earlier this month, she shared a series of old mugshots throughout the years, saying that she is not ashamed of her past.
The country star, for his part, was first arrested at the age of 14, and has been arrested over 40 times since then for various offenses.
In 2002, he was arrested for aggravated robbery and was hit with an eight-year prison sentence and seven years of probation.
