LAHORE: Increasing trend in chicken prices for the second consecutive week and the district administration’s failure to implement official rates badly affected the consumers.
However, rates of some seasonal vegetables reduced, but its impact was not witnessed due to overcharging by sellers. Closure of Pak-Afghan trade has also kept the rates of some fruits high, with market facing shortage of pomegranates and grapes. This week the price of live chicken was further gained by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs359-383 per kg, but didn’t not sell in the city, and chicken meat by Rs73 per kg, was fixed at Rs555 per kg, sold at Rs580 to Rs700 per kg, and chicken boneless was sold at Rs850-1000 per kg.
The price of potato soft skin new was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs92-100 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg.
The price of potato sugar free further reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs45-50 kg, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg. The price of onion was declined by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs120-130 per kg, mixed sold at Rs150-180 per kg.
The price of tomato was gained by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs105-115 per kg, sold at Rs150-200 per kg.
The price of garlic local new was unchanged at Rs180-190 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, Garlic Harani at Rs267-280 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg, Garlic China was fixed at Rs390-410 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg.
The price of both Ginger Tahi and China was further reduced by Rs140 per kg, fixed at Rs345-360 per kg, sold at Rs450-550 per kg.
Cucumber Farm gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs95-100 kg, sold at Rs120-15 per kg, cucumber local was fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg.
Brinjal price was unchanged at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.
Biter gourd also stables at Rs66-70 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg. The price Spinach was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 sold at Rs50-70 per kg.
Zucchini local declined by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs147-155 per kg, not sold, Zucchini Farm by Rs10 per kg, was fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg, zucchini long was fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs100-140 per kg.
The lemon China reduced by Rs5 per kg. fixed at Rs75-80 per kg, sold at Rs160-200 per kg. Pumpkin was
unchanged at Rs66-70 per kg, sold at Rs100-150 per kg.
