MINGORA: The police claimed to have killed the alleged notorious criminal Faizan, who had opened fire on the personnel of Kanju Police Station.
According to the police spokesperson, Kanju police riders were on security duty in Chor Bazaar when the notorious criminal Faizan and his accomplice were roaming there with the intention of committing theft.
When the police rider on security duty attempted to arrest the notorious criminal Faizan, a resident of Rahimabad, he allegedly opened fire on the police rider and fled the scene.
Taking notice of the incident, District Police Officer Swat Muhammad Umar Khan issued orders to Superintendent of Police, lower Swat, Ghulam Sadiq and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Kabal Circle, Amjad Khan to arrest the accused.
Under the supervision of DSP Amjad Khan, Kanju Police Station House Officer Zahidullah and his team started searching various locations to arrest the accused. During the search operation, the police received information from a source about the suspect’s hideout, which was raided.
Upon seeing the police, the accused opened fire on the police party. The police returned fire and killed the accused on the spot. His body was later shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
