ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers on Monday misbehaved with media workers during an internal conflict here at a rally.
During the rally here, the PTI workers clashed and allegedly manhandled media men covering the rally. Shortly after the incident, PTI Chairman Imran Khan apologised for the alleged violence against media persons by the PTI activists, declaring strict action would be taken against those who subjected media men to violence.
The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) President, Ali Raza Alvi, condemned the PTI workers’ behaviour with the media and stressed that media workers would not tolerate it any further and raise the issue with the authorities concerned besides staging demonstrations.
Meanwhile, Federal Information Minister said in a statement that it was not for the first time that PTI workers misbehaved with journalists. He said such incidents must not be allowed to happen.
