US envoy, minister discuss Pakistan’s macroeconomic development

ISLAMABAD: US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie E Baker met State Minister for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani here on Tuesday. They discussed matters of mutual interest and the promotion of bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States, according to an official statement.

It added that extensive discussions were held about Pakistan’s macroeconomic development and strengthening of the ongoing partnership between the two countries.

Minister Kayani briefed the visitor about Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision for economic stability and sustainable development.

He also highlighted the government’s comprehensive reform agenda for Pakistan Railways and provided details on its implementation, focusing on modernisation and efficiency.

Ms. Baker welcomed the increasing cooperation between Pakistan and the US, particularly in the areas of trade and commerce, and expressed optimism for future growth.

She and the minister reaffirmed their respective countries’ commitment to maintaining close contact and agreed to continue efforts for enhancing bilateral relations in different fields.
