At least four people lost their lives in separate violent incidents across various parts of the city on Saturday, police and rescue sources confirmed.
In one incident, two men were shot dead during an armed clash between two groups over a personal dispute at Khyber Chowk in Ittehad Town. Police and rescue teams reached the scene shortly after the shooting and shifted them to the Civil Hospital Karachi. The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Hazrat Khan, son of Kutub Deen, and 18-year-old Ibrahim, son of Abdul Hakeem. The police had launched an investigation into the case, though no FIR was registered until the filing of this report.
In another incident, aman was stabbed to death by his friend during a heated argument in Moosa Colony, located in the District Central. The incident occurred near UC Park in Gulberg’s Moosa Colony. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Waseem, son of Ibrahim, was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police said initial investigations revealed that Waseem and the suspect, Kamran, were friends and residents of the same locality. The altercation turned deadly when Kamran allegedly stabbed Waseem for reasons yet to be determined. Kamran was taken into custody, and further investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, in a separate and incident in Landhi, a man was killed by his elder brother during a dispute over property. According to police, the incident occurred on October 3 at a residence in Moinabad, Future Colony.
During a heated argument over inheritance, the elder brother, Akhtar Syed, allegedly attacked his younger brother, 40-year-old Wazir Khan, son of Syed Chiragh, with a hammer. Wazir was critically injured and rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The police stated that the deceased was unemployed. The suspect fled the scene after the attack. Authorities had recovered the murder weapon and launched a manhunt to apprehend the accused. An investigation was ongoing.
