MINGORA: Hundreds of students in Swat district have failed to get a seat as the deadline for online admissions to government colleges expired on Friday.
A large number of students who passed their matriculation examinations were unable to complete the online admission process within the given timeframe. Many of them had scored high marks but, due to various challenges, missed the deadline and are now facing uncertainty about their educational future.
Parents and students are now demanding that the education department extend the deadline, arguing that Swat’s status as a flood-affected region warrants special consideration. “Swat is a flood-affected area, and students here already face immense difficulties. Instead of closing the doors of education, the government should give them another chance so their studies are not disrupted,” one parent said.
Community members have also appealed to local education officials and members of the provincial assembly to take serious notice of the issue. They stressed that extending the admission deadline would prevent students from losing an academic year.
