TAKHTBHAI: A 23-year old young man was arrested over incest charges in Jamrah area of Takhtbhai tehsil on Sunday.
According to Saro Shah police, the victim, Marwa Bibi along with her mother Nadia Bibi, while lodging a formal complaint said that her brother Faizan entered her room late at night, woke her from sleep and he then raped her at gunpoint.
The victim revealed that this was not the first occurrence of such abuse, but previous incidents went unreported due to threats to her life. Following the complaint, a case was registered under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The victim was sent to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) in Takhtbhai for medical examination, where the medical report confirmed the sexual assault.
After lodging the report, Station House Officer Shafiq Ahmad Khan of Saro Shah Police Station along with a heavy police contingent raided various locations and apprehended the accused.Local people have demanded a transparent investigation and strict legal action against the accused.
